“My Father Has Finally Okayed The Deporting Of This Disastrous German Ambassador” Gen Muhoozi Announces Victory

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, has ignited a new diplomatic storm after publicly announcing that his father has approved the deportation of German Ambassador Matthias Schauer. The move signals a serious deterioration in relations between Uganda and Germany.

In a strongly worded social media post, Muhoozi stated, “Mzee has accepted to DEPORT this disastrous German Ambassador. Uganda deserves better!” His statement quickly gained widespread attention, both domestically and abroad, as it hinted at a major shift in Kampala’s foreign policy posture.

Tensions between Muhoozi and Ambassador Schauer have been simmering for weeks. The general previously accused the diplomat of misconduct and claimed he had been personally insulted by Schauer’s behavior. Muhoozi even commented on the ambassador’s appearance, adding a personal edge to the diplomatic feud. He later declared he had no intention of retracting his comments or apologizing.

The conflict escalated when the Ugandan military—where Muhoozi wields significant influence—suspended all defense cooperation with Germany. Army spokesperson Colonel Chris Magezi confirmed the decision, citing intelligence reports that allegedly linked the ambassador to political and military groups perceived as hostile to the Ugandan government.

According to military officials, these alleged affiliations posed national security risks. They added that any future military collaboration with Germany would remain on hold until the issue is thoroughly addressed.

So far, the German Embassy in Kampala has not publicly responded to the deportation claims. Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also remained silent, although sources indicate that preparations for Ambassador Schauer’s departure may already be underway.

The episode marks a rare and dramatic diplomatic breakdown in East Africa. Analysts suggest the decision to make such an announcement via Muhoozi’s personal platform reflects his growing influence within Uganda’s political and military establishment. His candid and often provocative communication style continues to draw attention—and controversy—on the international stage.

As the situation unfolds, it remains unclear how this diplomatic fallout will impact Uganda’s broader international relationships. What is certain, however, is that General Muhoozi is emerging as a dominant and disruptive force in shaping Uganda’s foreign policy.
