University Student Collapses Dead Into Her Hostel Room , This Happens Next

The student community at the University of Saint Joseph in Mbarara are mourning the sudden passing of one of their own.

Fortunate Kyarisiima reportedly collapsed and died under unclear circumstances last evening.She was a third-year student of Business Administration at the University.Kyarisiima, according to some of her colleagues, lost consciousness at her hostel located in Nyamitanga along the Mbarara-Isingiro road.

She was rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital by her friends, where she was pronounced dead.

“RIP my beloved sister,” posted one Ronnie,” a relative to the deceased.“Imagine home without you! Forever you will be in my heart… thanks for the good memories you gave…until we meet.”

Police were yet to comment on the circumstances of the student’s passing as the postmortem results had not been released by Friday afternoon.The news of Kyarisiima’s passing comes amid growing concerns about Ugandan university students dying in unclear circumstances.

At the end of last year, three medical students died in two weeks sparking worry in the student community.Dr. Rukia Abura from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Dr. Stephen Kasule and Dr. Pius Rwamafa, from Makerere University passed away in quick succession, raising questions about the cause of their deaths.
