NUP MP Medard Sseggona Robbed Shs 118 Million After Leaving His Car At A Washing Bay To Go For A Drink Up
Ugandan MP under the National Unity Platform (NUP) Party Hon Medard Lubega Sseggona has experienced an unexpected twist when his pristine vehicle became the scene of a daylight robbery.
While entrusting his car to be washed near Kampala’s Catholic Cathedral, Sseggona fell victim to audacious thieves who made off with a staggering sum of money, a notable blow for the anti-corruption advocate.Upon discovering the disappearance of his funds, Sseggona promptly reported the incident to authorities, initiating a thorough investigation.
The police, adept at uncovering wrongdoing, identified three suspects – Jordan Axtime, Emmanuel Migadde, and John Vianney Kibaale – whose sudden financial flushes raised suspicion.A subsequent search of their residences uncovered a fraction of the stolen money, leading to speculation about a larger network involved in the crime.
The area chairperson, Edward Lutaaya, was present as police searched the suspects’ houses before detectives recovered some of the money from a ceiling in one of the rented rooms. Lutaaya appealed to youth to work hard instead of engaging in theft. There was drama when the suspects accused each other of taking more money.
Police is still following reports that some of the money was taken by the suspects to Mpigi, and by yesterday evening, detectives had travelled there.
“A raid on their homes unearthed a hidden stash – 35 million shillings, a mere fraction of the stolen loot. Witnesses spilled the beans, claiming a whole crew of young men were in on the sudsy scam. The plot thickened!” A Source Told The Kampala Eye.
As investigators follow the trail of digital transactions, the audacity of the heist has left Kampala residents on edge, questioning whether it was a spontaneous act or orchestrated by a more sophisticated criminal. The investigation continues, chasing digital breadcrumbs of transferred funds.
This audacious heist has Kampala on edge. Was it an amateur splash-and-grab, or is there a deeper criminal mastermind wielding the sponge?Despite the setback, Sseggona remains resolute, determined to see justice served.
As the search for the perpetrators continues, the city awaits eagerly, hoping for a resolution that will restore trust in both car washes and the justice system.
