Pastor Bugingo’s Deceased Body Guard Was A Highly Trained SFC Commando!! See How He Died In Minutes

A decade ago, the late Richard Muhumuza enlisted in the Ugandan army, unaware that his journey would lead him to serve as a close protection officer for a prominent religious figure.
Recently, the Corporal, now part of the Special Forces Command (SFC), found himself assigned as a bodyguard to Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, the leader of the House of Prayer Ministries International in Kampala.
Maj Jimmy Omara, the Command spokesperson, conveyed condolences for the fallen soldier, emphasizing that deployments are determined by threat analysis. Pastor Bugingo, recognizing potential risks due to his association with high-profile figures, sought security, leading to Corporal Muhumuza’s assignment.
Tragically, Muhumuza, armed but caught off guard, succumbed to an attack on Pastor Bugingo’s vehicle at Bwalakata Junction on January 2. Despite injuries, the pastor managed to transport the vehicle to Mulago Hospital. Investigations are underway, and Maj Omara assured that burial preparations will be handled by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces.
“Deployments are done based on threat analysis. So, there was a time when many high-profile people in the country were receiving threats to their lives. Pastor Bugingo felt that he should be given security,” Maj Omara said.
“Getting a security personnel is not done by SFC, it starts from the Chief of Defence Forces and finally to the commander who looks for who to assign to whom.”
“The late Muhumuza was armed but the suddenness of Tuesday’s night’s attack left him no chance to fight back. When you are on deployment, you go with all your service equipment, we are saddened by his loss and we have launched investigations into the matter to find out what exactly transpired,” Maj Omara said.
He Added: “Once postmortem is done, burial arrangements shall kick off. He is still lying in the morgue in Mulago Hospital. Uganda People’s Defence Forces will handle burial preparations.”
In a video shared on social media, Pastor Bugingo had previously spoken about threats to his life. The assailants’ motives remain unclear, and details about Corporal Muhumuza’s background, including family, education, marital status, and past deployments, were not immediately available, leaving questions lingering even after Maj Omara and army officials engaged with Daily Monitor on the matter.
