Enkuuka Yo’Mwaaka!! See How Famous Ugandan Artists Were Pelted With Bottles – Thumped To Nearly Death On And Off Stage
The disorder during the New Year’s Eve spectacle at Lubiri, Mengo, known as ‘Enkuuka Tobongoota,’ resulted in injuries to several individuals, including artists who were targeted and prevented from performing.
Sheebah Karungi faced obstacles in concluding her performance to ring in the new year at the annual Enkuuka show at the Lubiri (Kabaka’s Palace) on December 31, 2023.The former TNS singer recounts that despite patiently waiting for her turn to grace the stage, the sound malfunctioned, and altercations erupted on stage.
A video shared by Mbu captures Sheebah leaving the stage after attempting to engage the crowd without proper sound.
“I waited for hours before going on stage at ENKUUKA YO OMWAKA, then suddenly, the sound cut off, and conflicts ensued. Knowing me, I don’t condone violence. It’s not worth it. So, I left. That’s my story,” Sheebah disclosed.
TikTok personality turned singer, Tom Dee, left the event with a battered face, assaulted by troublemakers and his car vandalized. He alleges the attack was due to his association with Alien Skin.
Other artists, such as Omukunja Atasera and his partner King Sheebah, faced aggression from irate attendees who hurled bottles during the same show.Ray G, a prominent singer from Western Uganda, also encountered disruptions during his Enkuuka Tobongoota performance, facing projectiles as soon as he stepped onto the stage.
It’s worth noting that Ray G had recently clashed with Azawi, following a stage altercation at the Comedy Store UG show at Mbarara Inn.On a positive note, some artists experienced a successful event.
Big Eye Starboss, previously targeted with bottles in past years, faced no issues during his performance this time. Revelers cheered him on as he credited Bobi Wine for being his recent source of strength, reviving his career.
