“From Selling Water to Driving a Benz” Joseph Opens Up

Life is full of surprises. One moment you are struggling to survive, and the next, you’re living the life you once only imagined. My name is Joseph, and I am from Mbale, Uganda. For years, life was tough. I grew up in poverty, and when I was old enough to work, the only job I could find was selling water on the streets. It was hard work with very little reward. Every evening, I went home with barely enough to eat, and sometimes I even slept hungry.

I remember cycling long distances under the hot sun, carrying jerrycans of water, calling out to attract customers. People often looked down on me and treated me as insignificant. Deep inside, I always believed that one day things would change, but I didn’t know how. Every business I tried failed. I lost money, felt disappointed, and sometimes wondered if poverty was my fate.
