St. Mary’s College Mayenze in Mbale was filled with joy and spiritual energy on October 11, 2025, as the school held a special blessing mass for its Form Four and Form Six candidates. The celebration was made even more colorful by the homecoming of the Old Girls (OGs) and Old Boys (OBs), bringing together generations of students, parents, teachers, and community members in a powerful show of unity and faith.

A total of 134 Form Four students and 52 Form Six students took part in the sacred mass. The event was dedicated to seeking divine guidance and blessings for the candidates as they prepared to sit for their upcoming national examinations. It was a time of prayer, reflection, and encouragement—reminding all that faith, discipline, and hard work go hand in hand on the journey to success.

The main celebrant of the mass was Father Odoi Valerian, who led the congregation with deep devotion and inspiration. He was assisted by Bishop Samwiri Wabulakha Emeritus, Bishop of Mbale Anglican Diocese; Bishop of Spiritual Ministries Wilberforce Walimbwa; and the Reverend Venerable John Silver Walimbwa, a retired Anglican priest. Their collective presence added great spiritual strength and wisdom to the occasion, blessing the candidates and the entire school community.

Parents and members of the local community attended in large numbers to support the students. Teachers and school administrators also played a key role in organizing the day’s activities, ensuring everything flowed smoothly. The event served as a reminder of the strong partnership between the school, families, and the broader community in nurturing young minds for a bright future.

Beyond the blessings, the day was also a beautiful reunion for the alumni, who returned to their former school to reconnect and inspire current students with their experiences. The atmosphere was one of joy, hope, and gratitude. This memorable day at St. Mary’s College Mayenze will be cherished as a symbol of faith, unity, and the power of education in shaping future leaders.
