“If There Is Anyone In This Country Who Can Fight Thieves, It’s me,” Gen Muhoozi Brags, Orders Museveni To Make Him Incharge Of This

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the First Son and Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, has called on President Yoweri Museveni to grant him full control of Kampala in a bid to address the city’s persistent challenges. In a recent statement, Gen. Muhoozi highlighted his confidence in tackling issues such as corruption and inefficiency if given greater administrative authority.
Praising the accomplishments of engineers under his leadership, Gen. Muhoozi expressed pride in their ability to achieve significant results despite working with a limited budget. “The great work our engineers have done in Kampala was achieved with very limited resources,” he remarked. He attributed their success to a strong work ethic and dedication to serving the Ugandan people.
Despite these achievements, Gen. Muhoozi acknowledged that budget constraints have impeded further progress. He announced plans to request full control over Kampala, arguing that this would enable him to address the city’s challenges more effectively. “If there is anyone in this country who can fight thieves, it’s me,” he asserted.
His proposal comes at a time of mounting public frustration over Kampala’s infrastructure problems, including traffic congestion, poor waste management, and deteriorating roads. Gen. Muhoozi’s call for expanded authority has sparked mixed reactions among Ugandans. While supporters view his proposal as a chance to streamline city management and curb corruption, critics question the risks of concentrating power in the hands of one individual.
