Over 1300 Students Fail LDC Bar Course , Only 700 Make It
The Law Development Centre has released an examination results circular disclosing the outcomes of the Advocate Bar Course for the academic year 2022/2023. Out of the 2,087 students enrolled, only 701 successfully passed the course, while 894 will sit for supplementary exams and 492 faced complete failure.
The circular, issued on Tuesday, delineates that the 701 successful candidates constitute 34% of the total enrollment. Among these, 398 students were from the Kampala campus, 224 from Mbarara Campus, and 79 from the Lira Campus. Interestingly, Mbarara Campus witnessed the highest pass rate at 36%.
Further analysis reveals that 286 students from Mbarara Campus and 488 from Kampala Campus will undertake supplementary exams, with 120 and 305 students, respectively, failing outright.
Conversely, 120 students from Lira Campus will sit for supplementary exams, while 67 students faced complete failure.
“A student who sits supplementary examinations in category B and C subjects only will have their results processed in time for qualifying students to graduate with his or her colleagues of academic year 2022/23.”
“Students with supplementary examinations in category A subjects will sit examinations with the students of the academic year 2023/24.”
The circular clarifies the examination process for students with supplementary exams and highlights the schedule for accessing individual detailed results.
Graduation ceremonies are slated to take place at the respective campuses in Mbarara, Kampala, and Lira on April 12, 19, and 26, 2024, respectively.
