The recently appointed Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Baruhagara Ateenyi, renowned for his unique style, has frequently been seen sporting an orange t-shirt. But what’s the story behind this fashion preference?

It appears there’s more than meets the eye.Balaam himself cites practical reasons for his affection for the orange t-shirt. He appreciates its quick-drying nature after washing, eliminating the need for ironing and thus saving time and electricity. With his hectic schedule, the convenience of a low-maintenance garment is certainly a plus.

Another benefit of the orange t-shirt, as he notes, is its resilience against dirt and stains, sparing him the worry of maintaining a pristine appearance. This pragmatic choice allows him to focus on his significant tasks without being bogged down by wardrobe concerns.

Moreover, he values the simplicity of his orange t-shirt in coordinating with other clothing items. Its vibrant and versatile color eliminates the need to deliberate over matching coats, trousers, or ties, offering a hassle-free approach to fashion that suits his busy lifestyle.

“The morning hours are for rushing to make money, not to waste time looking for what to wear. The orange t-shirt comes in as a perfect choice without any inconvenience.” Balaam Baruhagara Said.

Despite expectations for formal attire in his new role, Balaam remains resolute in his preference for the orange t-shirt. He acknowledges the prescribed dress code but insists on retaining his attire, albeit with some compromises.

He plans to wear it discreetly under jackets or as a vest, emphasizing that he’ll continue donning it outside of official duties.

“Everything is going to remain the same apart from the clothes. My hands have been tied up. I can no longer wear my famous T-shirt but I will still wear it in the car. Or I will wear it as a vest because no law forbids me to wear it as a vest. It hurts me but I promise to wear it when I am out of the office. When I am going to Bunyoro, I will wear a t-shirt,” he said during one of his interviews.
