ADF Rebels Attack Western Uganda!! See How They Slaughtered 10 Ugandans Alive
Approximately 10 individuals lost their lives in an assault on Monday night in Kamwenge District, western Uganda, perpetrated by unidentified attackers.
In Kyabandara Parish, Kamwenge Sub County, assailants targeted a bar, claiming four lives, their bodies subsequently burned in a structure housing a shop and a hotel. Six other victims, suspected to be guarding a maize farm, were fatally attacked by assailants believed to be linked to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militias.
Among the deceased is Night, a female councilor of Kyanadara Parish, as reported by local sources; however, details about other victims remain unestablished. The assault also witnessed the burning of a cereal store.
Notably, this incident follows President Museveni’s December 13 announcement of Uganda-led airstrikes in September, resulting in the alleged death of around 200 ADF rebels affiliated with the Islamic State group in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Originally Ugandan rebels with a Muslim majority, the ADF, active since the mid-1990s in eastern DR Congo, pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group in 2019. President Museveni disclosed ongoing air attacks on the terrorists without specifying further details. The ADF, accused of massacring civilians and conducting jihadist attacks, faced a joint offensive by Uganda and the DRC in 2021 to expel them from Congolese strongholds, yet attacks persist.
The US offered a $5 million reward for information leading to the capture of ADF leader Musa Baluku. In a claimed attack by the Islamic State group in October, two tourists and their guide were killed in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The ADF’s leader, Abdul Rashid Kyoto, was arrested in November, following the group’s alleged involvement in previous attacks.Notably, the ADF has a history of attacks on schools, with a recent incident in June resulting in casualties. In 1998, the group attacked Kichwamba Technical Institute, burning alive 80 students in their dormitories.
In December, police offered a reward for information leading to the arrest of two alleged ADF fugitive militants, publishing details of the top rebels accused of insurgencies in Uganda and DR Congo on December 4.
