“Anyone With Questions Regarding My Academic Credentials Should Face Me Directly” Gen Rwashande Dares
Retired Brigadier General Emmanuel Rwashande has publicly defended his academic qualifications, following allegations that he used forged documents to win the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries in Lwemiyaga.
Speaking with confidence and resolve, Gen. Rwashande dismissed the claims as baseless and challenged anyone with doubts to confront him directly.
“If anyone has questions about my academic credentials, let them come and ask me,” he said, visibly frustrated by the accusations.
The controversy erupted after Gen. Rwashande was officially declared the winner of the NRM primaries. However, his victory was swiftly contested by incumbent MP Hon. Theodore Ssekikubo, who accused Rwashande of using Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers to intimidate voters—allegations suggesting that military involvement influenced the election outcome.
Unfazed by the criticism, Gen. Rwashande stood firm. He called on the people of Lwemiyaga to place their trust in him ahead of the general elections, pledging to deliver meaningful change within a single term. He further promised to pave the way for young leaders once his work was done.
“I only need one term to fix what’s broken in Lwemiyaga. After that, the youth can take over,” he declared.
As tensions rise ahead of the parliamentary elections, Gen. Rwashande remains focused on his campaign. He emphasized that he is not swayed by what he referred to as “cheap talk,” and reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people with integrity and transparency.
“I have nothing to hide,” he said. “Anyone with doubts is welcome to speak to me directly.”
With his strong stance and ambitious promises, Gen. Rwashande has positioned himself at the center of a heated political contest. Whether the people of Lwemiyaga will rally behind his vision remains to be seen—but one thing is clear: the retired General is not stepping aside without a fight.
