COME RAIN Or SUNSHINE!! Ssegirinya’s Widow Defies DNA Results, Declines To Leave Late MP’s Residence
A heated dispute has emerged within the family of the late Member of Parliament Muhammad Ssegirinya, centering around one of his widows, Twahirah Akandinda, who has refused to vacate the home she shared with him. This follows DNA test results indicating that none of her children were fathered by the deceased MP.
Sources close to the family say the DNA tests were commissioned to determine the legitimate heirs to Ssegirinya’s estate. The outcome reportedly confirmed that Twahirah’s children are not biologically related to Ssegirinya, leading some family members to demand her departure so that his confirmed biological children can claim the residence.
Despite the pressure, Twahirah has refused to leave. She alleges the DNA results were falsified and manipulated by individuals seeking control over the late MP’s estate. “They are trying to force me out to sell everything,” she stated. “But this was our home. I lived here with my husband until he died, and I will not leave.”
Twahirah maintains that the house was specifically built for her by Ssegirinya and asserts that she remains his lawful widow. She claims the campaign to evict her is part of a broader scheme to exclude her from any share in the estate.
Further complicating the situation are reports that one of Ssegirinya’s vehicles—a Toyota Prado with registration number UAU 068T—was sold for just Shs11 million within two weeks of his death. The sale was allegedly conducted by Twahirah’s mother and another widow, Nalongo Joyce Nalule, raising concerns over how the deceased’s assets are being managed.
Several family members have expressed alarm that the estate is being divided and sold without formal legal proceedings or consensus. They are now calling on community elders and religious leaders to intervene and help mediate the conflict, in hopes of preserving Ssegirinya’s legacy.
As tensions continue to rise, the future of Ssegirinya’s estate remains uncertain. What is certain, however, is that his passing has triggered a painful family conflict rooted in questions of inheritance, trust, and loyalty.
