“Distance Yourselves From Bobi Wine Immediately, I Agree With The Leader Of All Times Gen Muhoozi” Minister Balaam Breaks His Silence

State Minister for Tourism, Balaam Ateenyi, has publicly expressed support for General Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s recent statement urging the Baganda community to distance themselves from opposition leader Bobi Wine.
In a post on X, Muhoozi, who is also the son of President Yoweri Museveni, called on the Baganda, a group Bobi Wine belongs to, to sever ties with him, claiming that Bobi Wine does not have a legitimate connection to their community. He referred to Bobi Wine as “Kabobi” and suggested that his ethnic roots lay with the Murundi and Muhutu groups rather than the Baganda.
Muhoozi emphasized the shared heritage between the Baganda and the Bahima, saying, “My beloved brothers, the Baganda, a great people. Children of the Bachwezi! Baganda have the same blood as Bahima. Divorce yourselves from Kabobi immediately.”
In response to Muhoozi’s call, Minister Balaam Ateenyi reiterated support for the message, praising the Baganda people’s rich cultural history and their historical connections with the Bahima. He also encouraged the Baganda to follow Muhoozi’s advice and reject Bobi Wine, whom he described as a “bad man.”
Balaam further emphasized the importance of national cohesion, advocating for unity and support for President Yoweri Museveni, whom he hailed as a key figure in promoting stability. He encouraged the Baganda to celebrate their shared heritage and work toward a brighter future, urging them to support and vote for Museveni in the upcoming elections.
