The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has issued a stern caution to media broadcasters, online TV stations, bloggers, and TikTok creators ahead of the 2026 presidential elections, reiterating the importance of adhering to the law regarding election results.
UCC has made it clear that no individual or media outlet is permitted to set up independent tally centers or announce election results. This action, they warn, is illegal and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
As Uganda prepares for the highly anticipated elections, with the spotlight on voting and results, UCC aims to prevent the spread of misinformation, confusion, and false results that could destabilize the election process.
