Hon. Joseph Mukasa has officially declared that he will contest for the position of Member of Parliament for Makindye-Sabagabo Municipality in the 2026 general elections. He will be running under the National Unity Platform (NUP) with the campaign message: “People First, Service, Equity and Transformation.” His announcement has sparked new hope among residents who are eager for change.

Joseph Mukasa is well known in Makindye-Sabagabo. For over two decades, he has worked side by side with the community, understanding the challenges people face every day. These include poor roads, youth unemployment, insecure neighborhoods, lack of good health care, and limited access to quality education. He has seen the struggles of mothers walking long distances to clinics without medicine, and young people with skills but no job opportunities. These are the issues he is committed to addressing.

Through his role as Executive Director of HELP Uganda, Mukasa has helped thousands of youth and women learn practical skills like tailoring, baking, and hairdressing. These programs have helped many families earn a living and improve their lives. He has also worked with international organizations such as USAID, CDC, and the World Bank, proving his ability to manage serious development projects and partnerships.

In his manifesto, Mukasa promises to fight for better roads, improved drainage, and quality public services. He plans to hold regular town hall meetings where residents can express their views and contribute to decisions. He is also passionate about youth and women empowerment, education, and keeping the environment clean and safe.

Above all, Mukasa describes himself as a servant leader—someone who listens, understands people’s needs, and takes real action.

This is not his first time in politics. He ran for the same seat in 2011–2016. Although he did not win, he never abandoned the community. He continued to serve through his NGO and Rotary Club. His impact can be seen in many parts of the constituency.

He said, “Makindye-Sabagabo deserves dignity, fairness, and real transformation. I am ready to be your voice in Parliament. Together, we can build a stronger, better community.”

Hon. Joseph Mukasa has promised to stay accessible, transparent, and accountable. He strongly stands against corruption, injustice, and vote-buying.

The community is ready for new leadership. The time for change is now.

Vote Hon. Joseph Mukasa – NUP Candidate for MP, Makindye-Sabagabo Municipality 2026
People First. Service. Equity. Transformation.
