“I Warned All Of Them ” Museveni Breaks His Silence Regarding The Powerful Message He Told Ruto After He Was Invited

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni recently shared the strong message he conveyed to Kenyan President William Ruto after being invited to attend a cultural event in Kenya. Museveni revealed his sentiments during the fourth edition of the Piny Luo Festival, held in Siaya County, Kenya. His attendance at the event, according to various East African news outlets, carried significant implications for the region’s leaders and its people.
Speaking at the festival, Museveni recounted his conversation with President Ruto, stating, “When President Ruto invited me, I told him I had to come. If East Africans were coming together, I needed to be there to warn them: if you don’t wake up, don’t say the elders didn’t warn you.” His remarks conveyed a sense of urgency and concern for the future of East Africa, urging leaders and citizens alike to heed these warnings.
Museveni’s presence at the event was notable not only for his speech but also for his actions, as he traveled over 200 kilometers by road to attend, underscoring his dedication to fostering regional unity. The festival, held at the historic Got Ramogi Hill shrines, saw Museveni being crowned as a Luo elder, alongside President Ruto and former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. As part of the ceremony, the three leaders were presented with traditional symbols of leadership, including a crown, a shield, and a spear.
During his address, Museveni highlighted the critical need for East African unity and cooperation. He emphasized the importance of moving beyond colonial-era borders and working together to achieve shared prosperity. His message aligned with the festival’s central theme of “Undugu” (brotherhood), reinforcing the cultural and political significance of the event.
Museveni concluded by advocating for the formation of an East African federation, asserting that such a union was essential to overcoming the challenges faced by the region. His words resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impression on the importance of regional collaboration and solidarity.
