Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi Spends 55 Days In Namibian Hospital, Details Emerge About His Sickness As Baganda Demand For Him

Buganda King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has been receiving medical care at a private facility in Namibia for 55 days.
The 69-year-old king has been in and out of the hospital in Germany and traveled to Namibia in April for further treatment. This information was shared by Namibia’s ambassador to Germany, Martin Andjaba, in response to a query from a Ugandan citizen following reports that the Kabaka was being held in Namibia.
The king’s health issues have sparked debate among bloggers, with some accusing Prime Minister Peter Mayiga of concealing the king’s condition from the public. Mayiga has refused to disclose the king’s whereabouts and health status, citing privacy concerns.
“I am informing Buganda once again that the Kabaka is still abroad, where he went for an appointment with his medical handlers,” Mayiga said in May 2024.
“He will return upon the doctors’ confirmation that he is ready to be discharged.”
The Kabaka’s subjects are demanding regular updates on his health condition. Okonguarri Psychotherapeutic Centre, where the king is receiving treatment, is located on a 5,000-hectare property and offers various therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Behavioral Emotive Therapy (REBT), and Psychotherapy.
The king was last seen in March, just days before his birthday celebration on April 7, 2024, at Mengo.
