“They Lied Us That The Company Was Legit” Don Chris’ Scammed Clients Want Kasuku, Momo19 & Many Other Celebrities Arrested
The SkyPins travel scam has taken a disturbing new direction, leaving many Ugandans feeling betrayed—not just by the company’s fugitive CEO, Don Chris, but also by the public figures who vouched for the scheme.
Frustrated victims are now accusing celebrities like Kasuku, Momo19, Winnie Success, and Makona of playing a key role in building trust around SkyPins. These influencers were featured across social media and television, assuring the public that the company was legitimate. Their endorsements, many victims say, convinced them to part with large sums of money—often over UGX 8 million—believing they were paying for visa processing and a chance to work abroad, especially in Europe.
But those hopes have now crumbled into heartbreak. According to reports, Don Chris fled the country with millions of shillings, abandoning hundreds of hopeful clients who are now left with nothing but debt and despair.
“We trusted them,” one tearful victim said. “Winnie and Momo19 told us not to worry. They gave us hope. Now they’ve gone quiet, and we’re the ones facing the consequences.”
Some victims say they sold property, borrowed from SACCOs, or took personal loans just to meet the fees SkyPins demanded. What convinced them most wasn’t just the company’s promises—but the credibility lent by celebrities they admired and followed.
Now, calls are growing louder for these influencers to be investigated. Many victims are demanding the arrest of the celebrities who promoted SkyPins, arguing that their involvement helped facilitate the scam.
“The celebrities pushed the scam to the public,” one victim stated. “If they were paid to advertise it, they should be held responsible too.”
The controversy has ignited a broader national conversation about influencer responsibility. Critics warn that Ugandans should be cautious about trusting endorsements simply because they come from famous personalities.
As investigations continue and authorities search for Don Chris, victims are still hoping for justice—not only from the man behind the scam but also from anyone who played a part in selling the illusion.
