Bobi Wine Speaks Out On Being Under Siege, Running NUP Like His Home – Blasts Mpuuga
The president of the National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi has dismissed claims by former Leader of Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga that he is under siege.
Officiating the presentation of the national alternative budget priorities for the financial year 2024/2025, Kyagulanyi , Kyagulanyi said he will not be swayed by non-issues.Kyagulanyi also asked opposition legislators to resist and reject all forms of corruption in offices of administration for the betterment of all Ugandans.
He insisted that public resources must be exploited for all and not to benefit a few with access to these resources. He said as National Unity Platform, the main opposition political party will take decisive actions against all its members engaged in this vice of corruption.
On the issue of failing to eject the opposition commissioner Mathias Mpuuga from the Parliamentary Commission as a party, Kyagulanyi said they will not be deterred by the negative response from the Speaker.
Notably, commissioner of Parliament, Mathias Mpuuga and other MPs including Muwanga Kivumbi, Medard Lubega Sseggona and Dr.Abed Bwanika snubbed the function.
Meanwhile , The National Unity Platform (NUP) has asked the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Mr Balam Barugahara, to stop being inconsiderate to the miseries of their alleged 18 missing persons.NUP says the new minister has no capacity to so what has failed his seniors for years.
According to NUP Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya, Minister Balaam’s powers cannot supersede that of his superiors like internal affairs, justice and constitutional affairs ministries, and parliament which have failed to compel government to release the missing persons.
“He says that lists should be compiled and given to him,” Rubongoya said.
“This is a matter that has never been handled by the internal affairs, by the justice minister… and Uganda Human Rights Commission alleges that they are ‘ghost’ missing persons. Who is he whose powers supersede his seniors?”
While swearing in at State House last week, Mr Balaam challenged NUP to produce the list of the missing person so that he beseeches President Museveni to release them.
