Cecilia Ogwal’s Last Words To Ugandans Before Her Death Revealed!! See What She Demanded
Today morning, the speaker of parliament Annette Anita Among Among announced the sad news of the passing on of Dokolo Women Representative Cecilia Ogwal Barbara Atim.
She died from an Indian hospital where she was battling cancer for the past few weeks.Cecilia Ogwal was a strong voice in the parliament of Uganda having served in the house for quite a number of years and was seen as a fountain of experience in matters regarding the August house where she has served since 1996, sitting on several parliamentary committees.
At the time of her demise, Ogwal was serving on parliament’s Budget Committee. She was also a member on the committee of Physical Infrastructure in parliament as well as a member of the Uganda Management Institute and Institute of Corporate governance, she belonged to the Forum for Democratic Change which she joined after losing the Lira Municipality seat to Jimmy Akena in 2006.
In this article, we bring her last two messages to Ugandans which she posted three weeks ago. Cecilia Ogwal last posted on Facebook on the 25th of December 2023 at 8:32am in the morning when she was wishing Ugandans and her supporters a Merry Christmas.

Ever since then the Lioness of Dokolo never posted again until her candle burned out and her bold voice went silent today. Media reports indicate that the 77-year-old Ogwal succumbed to cancer at a hospital in India.In May 2020, Ogwal collapsed in parliament after feeling nauseated.
She has been one of the longest-serving legislators in the Ugandan parliament, having joined the House in 1994 to represent Lira Municipality during the constitution-making process. She remained a vocal voice until 2006 when she lost her seat to UPC president Jimmy Akena. She bounced back in 2011 to represent the newly created Dokolo district as Woman MP which she has served since then.
In her personal life, Cecilia Ogwal was a loving wife to Lameck Ogwal and a mother of seven natural children alongside numerous adopted ones. Interestingly, the lady who came to be known as “The Iron Lady”, won the first “Miss Uganda” contest at the age of 23 in 1969, adding a touch of glamour to her multifaceted life.Cecilia Ogwal will be remembered as a dedicated politician, businesswomen and champion for women’s rights.
