DRAMA!! Bobi Wine’s Party Cries For Museveni’s Billions After Mao Denying Them IPOD Cash

A political storm has erupted after Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP) dragged the government to the High Court, accusing Justice Minister Norbert Mao of deliberately blocking the party from billions of shillings in political funding. NUP claims this move is a deliberate attempt to weaken their operations ahead of the 2026 general elections.

NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya told the court that the decision to freeze their access to statutory funds is not only unfair but also illegal. He alleged that Mao issued an unlawful directive to the Electoral Commission on August 25, instructing that only parties affiliated with the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD) receive government cash.
