Enough Of His Silly Threats On Bobi Wine!! Besigye’s Wife Blasts Gen Muhoozi For Saying This

Winnie Byanyima, wife of Ugandan opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye, has voiced her concerns over recent remarks made by Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba. In a controversial post, Muhoozi claimed that God had given him the authority to “cut off Bobi Wine’s nose.”
Muhoozi, known for his frequent social media attacks on National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, recently stated that Wine would lose to President Yoweri Museveni in the 2026 presidential elections. Muhoozi further asserted that Museveni would “demolish” Wine in the polls.
Reacting on her X account (formerly Twitter), Byanyima condemned Muhoozi’s comments, expressing deep concern about the unchecked abuse of power.
“I am deeply concerned, as I’m sure many Ugandans are, by the threats from the Chief of Defence Forces to harm Bobi Wine,” Byanyima wrote. “It is alarming to see him abusing his position with impunity, openly flouting the laws of our country.”
Byanyima also highlighted the worsening political climate in Uganda, pointing to incidents of abductions, torture, illegal detentions, disappearances, and public humiliation of activists and opposition leaders.
“These actions have created a climate of fear, suspicion, and self-censorship. This is unacceptable. I am angry. We will not bow down,” she concluded, adding the hashtag #FreeBesigye.
Byanyima’s strong statement adds to growing concerns over the suppression of dissent and opposition voices in Uganda as the country approaches the 2026 elections.
