Moments after clinching victory in the NRM primaries for Kawempe North, Faridah Nambi ignited the political landscape with a passionate and bold victory speech that took direct aim at the constituency’s current MP, Elias Nalukoola of the National Unity Platform (NUP). With unwavering resolve, she declared, “I’m coming for you!”

Her declaration sent ripples through both her supporters and political rivals. Standing before an energized crowd, Nambi—visibly emotional but composed—framed her win not merely as a personal milestone, but as a mandate from a community that she says has long been neglected.

“This is not just a win for me—it’s a win for the people who have been sidelined for too long. Nalukoola, your time is up,” she asserted.

The statement quickly gained traction online, drawing praise for her boldness as well as caution from those anticipating a fierce electoral showdown. Political analysts suggest her direct challenge could carry significant psychological weight as the 2026 general elections approach, especially in a constituency that has long been an opposition stronghold.

Despite her victory, Nambi’s path forward is not without obstacles. Her rival in the primaries, Hanifa Karadi, has leveled serious allegations of vote rigging and bribery, pledging to escalate the matter to the NRM Electoral Commission. Nambi, however, remains resolute.

“My victory goes beyond party politics. The ground has spoken,” she said confidently.

With ambitions to restore NRM’s presence in Kawempe North after a two-decade absence, Nambi is positioning herself as a transformative figure, pledging to champion grassroots concerns and bring tangible change to her constituents.
