JUST IN!! Bobi Wine’s Hater MC Kats To Form His Own Political Party, Gives It The Name “Youth Speak”
Popular media personality Edwin Katamba, better known as MC Kats, has announced the formation of his own political party — marking a bold new chapter in his already dynamic public life. Known for his outspoken nature and fearless commentary, MC Kats says he’s ready to move from talk to action by formally entering Uganda’s political arena.
In recent months, MC Kats has been an outspoken critic of Bobi Wine, president of the National Unity Platform (NUP). But rather than remain on the sidelines, he’s now launching what he calls a youth-centered movement designed to amplify the voices of Uganda’s younger generation.
The new party, dubbed Youth Speak (Muvubuka Yogelaa), was unveiled on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. MC Kats outlined a vision focused on youth empowerment, access to opportunity, and demanding accountability from government leaders.
The party’s slogan, according to Kats, will be:
> “What are you doing for us, and how?”
His message is clear: Uganda’s young people are tired of empty promises and are demanding real solutions to issues like unemployment, poverty, and lack of access to quality services.
MC Kats also revealed a few names he hopes to bring on board as part of his new political movement, including:
Kasuku, a well-known entertainment journalist
Bajjo, events promoter and political commentator
Lil Pazo, a popular local musician
In his announcement, he wrote:
> “Kindly asking @AlfonseMukasa @Kasuku256 @lilpazoofficial to join us. For God and My Country 🇺🇬🇺🇬.”
This development comes just days after singer Stecia Mayanja was introduced as president of the National Peasants Party, announcing her own presidential ambitions — a signal that Uganda’s entertainment industry is increasingly intertwining with politics.
MC Kats’ entry adds to the growing list of entertainers leveraging their public influence to push for political change. While some question his political experience, others believe his boldness and direct connection with youth could make a significant impact.
Whether his new party will gain traction remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: MC Kats is determined to make sure young Ugandans are no longer just an audience — they’re part of the conversation, and he’s ready to lead that charge.
