Kabaka Sends A Tough Warning To Bobi Wine’s NUP And Others Who Claimed He Was Dead Or Kidnapped – Reveals How They Are Enemies Of Buganda

Buganda’s King, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups seeking to undermine the Kabakaship.
In a recent address, the Kabaka expressed concern over the disrespect and disregard for the traditions of the Buganda Kingdom, citing a series of incidents that have misled the public about the throne and the kingdom.
“The situation we went through in the past months has led some people to ignorantly or deliberately disrespect and disregard the traditions of our land (tribe), and act in dishonorable ways,” said Kabaka.
“They have done much to misguide our people about the throne and the kingdom. This is dangerous. You must watch out for such people,” he emphasized.
The Kabaka’s warning comes after a tumultuous period during which some individuals and groups have deliberately sought to undermine the authority of the kingdom. While not mentioning names, Buganda Kingdom officials have previously criticized National Unity Platform (NUP) activists for abusing the Kabaka.
In a CBS radio appearance earlier this year, Mpuuga expressed alarm over NUP members’ open disparagement of the Kabaka and Prime Minister Peter Mayiga on social media.
A recent analysis by diaspora-based researcher Abbey Semuwemba highlights the perceived political mistake made by NUP leader Bobi Wine in attacking the Kingdom.
According to Semuwemba, Bobi Wine has incited his supporters against the Kingdom, its officials, and media stations, leading to a propaganda campaign that has embarrassed the largest Kingdom in East Africa.
“Keen Buganda’s subjects say Bobi has over time, incited his supporters against the Kingdom, its officials, and media stations, leading to a propaganda campaign that has embarrassed the largest Kingdom in East Africa,” the analysis reads in part.
The Kabaka’s address also touched on the recent health concerns surrounding his treatment abroad. During his absence, NUP activists spread rumors that the Kabaka had been poisoned or kidnapped. Bobi Wine further fueled these claims by expressing support for those demanding the Kabaka’s whereabouts during a burial ceremony in Lwengo district.
Bobi Wine Stated, “you [people] all have the freedom to demand the whereabouts of Kabaka because I am also in pain.”
Insiders reveal that Mengo is furious over Bobi Wine’s persistent attacks despite the Kingdom’s support for his 2021 presidential bid.
“Bobi is nothing without us and the Catholic church,” a senior official at Mengo told ChimpReports on Thursday.
“You can’t attack the Kabaka and get away with it.”
The Kabaka emphasized the importance of unity in protecting and respecting the heritage and traditions of the Buganda Kingdom, citing a Luganda proverb that highlights the need to guard against external threats.
Kabaka, who recently returned from Namibia where he was receiving medical care, also slammed the chiefs who insisted on traveling to the Southern African country to visit him.
“We remind our people of these issues. First, the King has procedures through which he gets to the throne. The king is not elected/chosen by the clan chiefs. The superior chiefs are known and they know themselves and their responsibilities,” said Kabaka.
“Secondly, the king rules over the kingdom with support from the Prime Minister (Katikkiro) who he himself has chosen; and the King has no caretaker,” he observed.
In conclusion, the Kabaka reiterated the established procedures for ascending to the throne and the importance of the Prime Minister’s role in supporting the King’s rule. He also reminded the chiefs of their responsibilities and the need to respect the kingdom’s traditions and heritage.
