Leaked!! Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s Presidential Ambition – Here Are The Only Two Factors That Can Stop Him From Becoming Uganda’s Next President

What began as a mere whisper a decade ago has swiftly evolved into a palpable reality. Retired Gen David Munungu Tinyefuza, known as Sejusa during his tenure as the coordinator of the country’s intelligence services, sent shockwaves when he disclosed that Gen. Museveni was grooming his son, Gen. Muhoozi, to succeed him as the president of Uganda.
Sejusa’s revelation caused uproar, culminating in his self-imposed exile in the United Kingdom. The gravity of his claims was compounded by allegations of a conspiracy to eliminate senior military figures opposed to what Sejusa termed the “Muhoozi Project.”
However, figures like Gen Edward Katumba Wamala and Gen Aronda Nyakairima dismissed Sejusa’s assertions, labeling them as products of his imagination. Gen Edward Kale Kayihura, accused by Sejusa of spearheading efforts to suppress opposition to the alleged Muhoozi project, vehemently denied the allegations and even threatened legal action.
Interestingly, despite claiming to be a target of the purported elimination plot due to his opposition to the “Muhoozi Project,” Sejusa has since returned to Uganda and continues to reside peacefully in Naguru and Mawogola – Ssembabule.
Fast forward to the present day, Gen Kainerugaba , now serving as the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), faces only two remaining obstacles on his journey to Uganda’s presidency.
While Gen Muhoozi initially brushed off speculations about his presidential ambitions in 2012, he later asserted that those who accused him of harboring such aspirations were actually goading him to pursue them. He felt compelled to respond to the desires of certain Ugandans who envisioned him as their leader.
President Yoweri Museveni has not only stopped denying Muhoozi’s potential succession but has also publicly stated that his son could potentially combat corruption more effectively than him.
The First Son possesses all the prerequisites for the presidency, including the requisite age, education, citizenship, and extensive service to the nation. For those opposed to Muhoozi’s ascendancy, their only recourse is to prepare for a democratic electoral contest.
However, any attempt to impede his candidacy while espousing constitutional principles would seem contradictory and illogical. In the grand scheme of things, His path to the presidency appears almost inevitable, barring divine (God’s) intervention or his father’s refusal to relinquish power.
It is difficult to envision any force capable of derailing Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s longstanding ambition to assume the presidency, especially with the backing of the military, his father, and key state institutions.
Unless Ugandans have undergone a profound transformation akin to their counterparts in Senegal, Muhoozi’s presidency seems all but assured.
