“Let Me Avoid Abusing Bobi Wine Otherwise My Father Will Quarrel On Me” Gen Muhoozi Alleges
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has once again stirred social media debate with a tweet that many believe is aimed at opposition leader Bobi Wine. In a post laced with humor and subtle provocation, Muhoozi wrote:
“Let me stop tweeting about the CARTOONS, otherwise Mzee will call me and ask why I’m calling Bobi Wine a cartoon? Muraregye.”
The post quickly drew attention, with many interpreting “cartoons” as a not-so-veiled dig at Bobi Wine. The reference to “Mzee”—Swahili for “elder”—is widely understood to point to Muhoozi’s father, President Yoweri Museveni. The tweet suggests even the President might question Muhoozi’s online jabs.
This is far from the first time Muhoozi and Bobi Wine have traded barbs online. Their social media sparring has become a recurring feature of Uganda’s political landscape—Muhoozi from his military and political perch, and Bobi Wine as the main opposition figure.
Interestingly, Muhoozi’s tweet seems to mock not just his rival but himself, implying that his boldness might earn him a rebuke from the President. The closing word, “Muraregye”—Kinyarwanda for “you’re tired” or “enough”—adds a layer of sarcasm, hinting that he’s momentarily stepping back from the banter.
Online reactions were swift and divided. Muhoozi’s supporters hailed the tweet as witty and fearless. Critics, particularly from Bobi Wine’s camp, condemned it as immature and unbecoming of a senior military figure. Others voiced frustration, urging both leaders to focus on pressing national issues instead of trading insults on social media.
Still, Muhoozi’s presence online remains influential. Whether he’s tossing jabs or discussing policy, his tweets consistently spark national conversation.
With the 2026 elections drawing closer, such exchanges are expected to intensify. For now, Ugandans are left to speculate about Muhoozi’s next tweet—and how “Mzee” might react behind closed doors.
