“Muhoozi Kainerugaba Is Daddy’s Boy , The Standby Generator Can’t Start” MP Barnabas Tinkasimire Drops Bombshell Days After Muhoozi Endorsing Father Museveni For President
The Member of Parliament for Buyaga West County Barnabas Tinkasimire is glad to have been vindicated when the CDF, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba made a U-Turn on his presidential ambitions.
According to Tinkasimire, Gen Muhoozi was already headed nowhere, and the move to calm his ambitions is in good taste and the general interest of all Uganda-loving people.
“I do not know whether this intention was real or a gimmick to create some kind of pressure and put a resemblance that he could be a credible presidential contender. I am glad I dismissed this group from the very beginning,” Tinkasimire bragged.
“They were saying that it is a standby generator, I said that the generator can not start. I told them, President Museveni is a credible person and comparing him to his son, is comparing a giant 7 ft tall with a dwarf. I am glad he ( Gen Muhoozi is not wasting our time anymore,” he added.
Over the weekend, Gen Muhoozi released a bombshell to his supporters, confirming on X (Twitter) that he will not be on the ballot for the 2026 elections. Gen Muhoozi’s comments took the country by surprise, but most especially members of his party, who have been peddling the notion that the CDF will be presiding over the country after 2026, after being handed down power from President Museveni, his father.
General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni, had been positioning himself as a potential candidate for the country’s highest office for the past couple of years, becoming a household name as far as politics is concerned.
His message of change, youth empowerment, and a new era for Uganda attracted significant support from various sectors, including youth groups, members of parliament, ministers, and even opposition figures.
Muhoozi’s political ambitions were crystallized through the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a pressure group that drew members from both the ruling NRM and opposition parties.
But in a surprising turn of events, Muhoozi recently declared that he would not be running for the presidency in the upcoming 2026 general elections. Instead, he endorsed his father, President Museveni, and reaffirmed his support for the NRM.
This move has left many of his followers, especially those who had left their political parties to align with the PLU, in a difficult position.
