“Museveni’s Election Lies Will Be Exposed in Court” Bobi Wine Challenges Museveni To A Courtroom Showdown

In a bold move, National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging President Yoweri Museveni to waive his immunity in writing to face off in court over the latter’s claims of election rigging.
This comes after Museveni alleged that NUP rigged the 2021 presidential election by a staggering one million votes.
In a scathing letter dated September 15, addressed to President Museveni, Bobi Wine asserts that they possess concrete evidence of Museveni’s own electoral malfeasance.
The NUP leader has accepted Museveni’s challenge to take him to court, but with conditions.
“Waive your immunity so that we meet in court,” Bobi Wine’s letter reads, throwing down the gauntlet.
Furthermore, Bobi Wine has dared Museveni to agree to an independent, transparent election audit, presided over by an international agency.
“If the results of the audit prove that we engaged in any form of election rigging, we should be prosecuted,” Bobi Wine stated unequivocally.
He added, “If the audit finds that you (Museveni) rigged, you should step down and allow the people of Uganda to be led by a person of their choosing.”
This development comes on the heels of Museveni’s claims last week during a thanksgiving service for the late General Aronda Nyakairima, where he alleged to have concrete evidence of NUP’s electoral manipulation.
He claimed that the vote rigging was facilitated by electoral agents at polling stations and challenged Bobi Wine to take him to court, expressing his readiness to testify with evidence.
The 2021 presidential election saw Museveni emerge victorious with over 6 million votes, while Bobi Wine came second with over 3 million votes. However, the election’s legitimacy has been shrouded in controversy, with opposition parties and international observers raising concerns about electoral irregularities.
By daring Museveni to waive his immunity, Bobi Wine is calling his bluff, seeking a legal showdown to settle the election rigging claims once and for all.
Will Museveni accept the challenge, or will he retreat behind the shield of presidential immunity? Only time will tell.
