Rot At Uganda Parliament Exposed!! #UgandaParliamentExhibition Exposes Corrupt, Greedy , Extravagant MPs And Parliament Staff – How Billions Are Swindled

An Activist movement led by the renowned and provocative Cartoonist, Dr. Jim Spire Ssentongo, known as the #UgandaParliamentExhibition, has stirred unease among parliament leaders.
Launched just a week ago, this exhibition has brought to light a slew of uncomfortable truths.Joining forces with Spire Ssentongo are human rights advocate Agatha Atuhairwe, controversial author Kakwensa Rukirabashaija, and Tony Natif, among others.
Together, they’ve exposed several parliament leaders for what they term as “daylight robbery.”It all began with allegations of rampant corruption. From exposing the dubious activities of former opposition leader “Mathias Mpuuga,” who allegedly received a hefty five hundred million shillings as a “Service Award,” to shedding light on the flawed recruitment practices in parliament, where merit has been overshadowed by nepotism.
Numerous commissioners and leaders in Parliament were implicated for favoring their relatives in appointments, leaving thousands of civil servants earning meager salaries, sometimes going months without pay. It’s worth noting that this group has staged multiple exhibitions targeting corrupt government entities. These exhibitions have exposed corrupt officials and opposition leaders, as well as unveiled activities leading to the squandering of taxpayers’ money amounting to billions.
The ongoing #UgandaParliamentExhibition stands out as one of the most impactful displays yet. It has sparked internal strife within the National Unity Platform, with even some NRM stalwarts expressing shock at the revelations. Parliament workers have also begun leaking incriminating evidence against their superiors, and many journalists covering parliament have been implicated in the corruption.
At a time when citizens are grappling with economic hardships, one would expect MPs to focus on creating favorable trade policies. However, it seems the August house has turned into a feeding ground for greedy leaders. In the end, while the #UgandaParliamentExhibition may not achieve all its goals, it will be remembered as a bold anti-corruption movement that dared to challenge the status quo in parliament.
Relatedly, Outraged citizens in Uganda have taken to social media to demand the immediate arrest of Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, following the exposure of her extravagant spending habits, which have cost taxpayers billions of shillings.Activists recently unveiled documents detailing Among’s exorbitant expenditures, revealing that she averages around Shs 400 million per week.
Shockingly, between February 8, 2023, and April 17, 2023, Daniel Adilo, a parliamentary staff member, received a staggering Shs 2 billion for the Speaker’s activities, many of which appear to be personal in nature. For instance, on June 13, 2023, Adilo withdrew Shs 130 million on behalf of Among for ‘garments’ supposedly for the Speaker’s outreach activities in Eastern Uganda.
Furthermore, on July 24, 2023, Among received an advance of Shs 750 million for a ‘community empowerment workshop’ in Bukedea, where she serves as a Woman MP.These revelations of scandalous expenditure have surfaced at a time when Ugandans are grappling with the economic aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, facing heavy taxation to fund national budgets and repay the country’s debts.
