National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has said he would have effected salary increment for the police and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) if he were the president.

Bobi Wine said the police and UPDF officers were poor because President Museveni has refused to effect salary increments for them.

“It is two and a half years since the 2021 elections. Museveni is the reason you missed that money, he is the reason you are poor,” He Said

“We could have already ousted Museveni because we won him in style but we want you people to take power in your majority,” Said Bobi Wine

Speaking during a rally in Mayuge town, Bobi Wine noted that he won the 2021 elections but the victory was stolen by President Museveni. The opposition politician told Mayuge residents on Monday that he was not campaigning to look for votes because people already voted for him. He added that the recent waves of coups in Africa are a manifestation of the people’s power.
