Internal Affairs Minister Maj Gen (Rtd) Kahinda Otafiire’s son, Che Otafiire, is determined not to let campaigners like David Kabanda criticize his father without consequences.

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s MK Movement, promoting the presidential interests of the first son, views Maj Gen (Rtd) Otafiire as an adversary. Allegations surfaced that Otafiire had taken over Njeru Stock Farm, leading Kabanda to accuse him of using his ministerial powers to raid the farm and arrest its manager.

Kabanda, who is also the deputy spokesperson of the MK Movement, alleged that Otafiire had used his powers as the minister of internal affairs, supervising Uganda Police Force (UPF), to take over the farm and arrest its manager.

“So apparently Minister Otafiire has used ‘his police’ as interior minister to raid and take over Njeru government stock farm in Jinja which is meant to serve the whole of Eastern region as a breeding centre and has arrested a farm manager with his guards since [January 21] at Njeru and ordered police not to give her bail,” wrote Kabanda.

Kabanda further argued that he now sees why Otafiire hates Muhoozi and his MK Movement.

“This is impunity that causes nausea. I really now understand why Otafiire and his club oppose Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. It’s not that they like his father, but it’s because they know that they have mastered the art of blackmailing Museveni politically into tolerating their Impunity, which Impunity MK certainly will dismantle,” he continued.

“Honestly, if even Amin didn’t give away these government farms why would ‘NRM historicals’ like Otafiire want to take over these farms? But anyway, time is there and these impunity beneficiaries will account.”

Che Otafiire responded, advising Kabanda to seek redress from the Attorney General and the Ministry of Agriculture before commenting on matters he doesn’t comprehend. Che also claimed that President Museveni dislikes Kabanda due to his alleged questionable character, suggesting others like Cedric Ndilima and Michael Katungi should lead Gen Kainerugaba’s political agenda.

Che continued to say that people like Kabanda should not be leading the MK Movement.

“For someone who defrauded the person of the president, you chat a lot of s*it. No wonder he despises you because your character is repulsive,” Che Otafiire alleged.

“People with brains like Cedric Ndilima and Michael Katungi should be the face of General Kainerugaba’s political agenda when he retires, not a Year 13 graduate like you. Kindly, stop behaving like you have the thinking capacity of a mitochondrion.”

Rumors circulate about Otafiire’s son running for president in 2026 to prevent Muhoozi’s succession, a claim both Minister Otafiire and his son have addressed.
