Despite growing concerns about his age and health, General Moses Ali has once again shown that he remains a powerful political figure in his home district of Adjumani. Over the weekend, he hosted a major rally that drew thousands of excited residents, many of whom still see him as their most trusted leader.

In recent months, some Ugandans have questioned whether the veteran politician should retire from active politics. But Gen Moses Ali used this event to send a clear message—he’s not going anywhere yet. He appeared energetic, confident, and ready to continue serving his people.

“I am still strong and ready to serve my people,” he told the cheering crowd. “We will work together to develop Adjumani and the entire West Nile region. I have not forgotten the promises I made.”

During his speech, Gen Moses Ali emphasized his commitment to development. He spoke about improving local roads, boosting education and healthcare, and supporting community projects. He also reminded the crowd of his long history of leadership and his deep roots in the region.

Many who attended said the rally was one of the largest political events in Adjumani in recent years. Supporters waved banners, sang songs, and praised his leadership, showing their continued faith in his ability to represent them.

“He may be older, but his message is still strong,” said one supporter. “We believe in him and we know he cares about us.”

The turnout and excitement around Gen Moses Ali’s rally suggest that, in Uganda’s rural areas, experience and a personal connection with the people still carry great weight. Whether he decides to contest in the next election or not, one thing is certain—Adjumani still has his back.
