Stop Your Nonsense Talks!! Minister Balaam Fumes As Bobi Wine Points Finger At Museveni & Muhoozi Over Ssegirinya’s Death

State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Ateenyi, has strongly criticized opposition leader Bobi Wine over allegations regarding the death of Kawempe North MP, Ssegirinya Muhammad. Bobi Wine accused the government under President Yoweri Museveni and his son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, of being responsible for the MP’s death.
In his statement, Bobi Wine alleged that the regime had conspired with certain politicians to torture and ultimately lead Ssegirinya to an early grave. He highlighted the MP’s dedication to his constituents, particularly in areas such as healthcare, economic empowerment, and community service. According to Bobi Wine, these were critical responsibilities neglected by the government. He also accused the government of obstructing Ssegirinya’s bail and silencing key witnesses, claiming some were coerced into giving false testimony against the MP.
Reacting to these accusations, Minister Balaam Ateenyi dismissed Bobi Wine’s claims as baseless and unfair. He stated, “I strongly disagree with the accusations made against President Museveni and his son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba. They are renowned kind leaders who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to peace, harmony, and love for all Ugandans.” The minister went on to defend General Muhoozi’s actions, particularly his efforts in advocating for Uganda’s sovereignty and promoting diplomatic interests.
Ateenyi also criticized Bobi Wine’s speculation about divine punishment and unsubstantiated accusations, describing them as unproductive and divisive. He called for a focus on fostering understanding, respect, and constructive dialogue among Ugandans. Additionally, he urged the public to acknowledge the positive contributions of President Museveni and General Muhoozi toward the country’s development.
The minister’s response underscores the heightened tensions between the ruling government and the opposition, as both sides navigate the politically charged aftermath of Ssegirinya’s death.
