OMG!! ADF Makes Brutal Attack On Uganda – Leaves Many People Dead
Recent information sheds light on the ADF rebels’ attack in Kasese, where they ambushed a trailer. The attack took place around 1 am on Friday at Katojo junction along the Bwera-Kinyamaseke-Kasese road in Kasese district.
Initially, the circumstances surrounding the incident were unclear.According to Col Deo Akiiki, the deputy defense spokesperson, new details reveal that the suspected ADF rebels ambushed the trailer with registration number UBM 624 L.
They shot and killed the driver, Joseph Matovu, 38, on the spot. Additionally, a female passenger, Clarisa Nzoghera, a resident of Nyakahya cell, was also fatally shot and then burnt in the vehicle. Two other individuals, including the turnman, Magyezi Assyline Munezera, 28, and another passenger, Edreda Biira, 37, were also involved in the attack.
The latest statement by the UPDF (Uganda People’s Defense Forces) has confirmed the fate of the fourth female occupant of the vehicle who was unaccounted for initially. Her body was found burnt beyond recognition inside the torched vehicle.
The deceased, injured, and survivors were taken to Bwera Hospital, while the crime scene is under the management of the police as the UPDF continues its pursuit of the suspected ADF rebels.
This incident is reminiscent of a previous ADF attack in June when they crossed into Uganda and attacked a secondary school in Mpondwe, near the DRC border, burning school dormitories and claiming the lives of over 45 students.
They also looted food from the school’s stores and retreated to the DRC, as was the case in this recent attack, which occurred about 10 kilometers from the Mpondwe-Congo border.
