Now Stress Free!! Details Leak On How Bobi Wine Reportedly Forgave Mpuuga’s Best Friend Ssegona, Set To Win The NUP Flag Again
Busiro East Member of Parliament, Counsel Medard Sseggona, can now enjoy some much-needed peace of mind after reportedly mending fences with his party president, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine. This reconciliation, which comes after a period of tension, seems to have marked a turning point in Sseggona’s political journey.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Sseggona and Bobi Wine held a private, heart-to-heart meeting at the NUP leader’s home in Magere just before Sseggona traveled abroad. During the closed-door discussion, Sseggona is said to have expressed his reasons for stepping back from party activities and his absence from the NUP headquarters in Kavule, citing several key issues that had created friction within the party.
A primary concern was the suspension of his close ally, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga, from the party, which left Sseggona torn between loyalty to his friend and remaining in alignment with NUP leadership. He also raised concerns about tensions with fellow party member and musician, Hon. Mathias Walukagga, who has reportedly shown interest in running for the Busiro East seat.
The meeting was described as a candid exchange of thoughts, with Sseggona apparently apologizing for any actions or misunderstandings that may have caused damage to the party. He pledged his renewed loyalty to NUP and promised to redouble his efforts to support the party’s vision. It was reported that Bobi Wine, in turn, forgave Sseggona and reassured him of the party’s endorsement as the official NUP candidate for the Busiro East seat in the upcoming elections.
Following this discussion, Sseggona reportedly shared with his inner circle that the reconciliation had been successful and that Bobi Wine had expressed confidence in him. Soon after, campaign posters featuring Sseggona alongside the NUP flag began circulating on social media, signaling his return to the party fold and reaffirming his position as a key contender for the party’s ticket in the upcoming race.
This unexpected turn of events has reportedly unsettled the political camp of billionaire businessman Emmanuel Matovu Magola, who had been eyeing the NUP flag for Busiro East. Magola, who had been optimistic about his chances of securing the party ticket if Sseggona defected to another political group—particularly the Democratic Front (DF), along with Mpuuga—now faces a more competitive race. His confidence had been bolstered by his substantial financial contributions to the party, including his personal funding of the pavers laid at the NUP headquarters.
With Sseggona back in Bobi Wine’s good graces, the race for the NUP flag in Busiro East is set to become even more heated. Political observers and supporters on both sides are closely monitoring the evolving dynamics as alliances shift, strategies are reshaped, and the battle for the highly sought-after ticket intensifies.
