The Ugandan army has announced that National Unity Platform (NUP) official John Bosco Kibalama has fled the country. Army spokesperson Major General Felix Kulayigye confirmed that Kibalama is no longer in Uganda, sparking widespread speculation about his sudden departure.

According to Maj. Gen. Kulayigye, Kibalama left without following the proper procedures required by law. He accused the opposition figure of sneaking out of the country illegally, stressing that the departure was not officially authorized.

The abrupt exit has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding Kibalama’s movements. Analysts note that leaving the country in such a manner could carry legal consequences and may prompt further investigation into his motives.

Kibalama’s disappearance comes at a sensitive time, with political tensions in Uganda running high. The opposition remains under heavy scrutiny, and security agencies appear keen to closely monitor political leaders, particularly those seen as influential or controversial.

Authorities are expected to probe how Kibalama managed to cross borders undetected. For now, little is known about his precise location or the conditions under which he left, leaving the public eager for more details.

The news has generated strong reactions among both supporters and critics of the NUP. Many are debating whether Kibalama fled because of political persecution, fear for his personal safety, or other private reasons, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the incident.

As the nation awaits clearer communication from either Kibalama himself or the government, the episode underscores the persistent tensions shaping Uganda’s political environment. The outcome of this situation could carry significant implications for the opposition’s future and the broader national political landscape.
