“How I Finally Found Justice After Years in Court” Ugandan Woman Shares

Life often puts us in situations that feel unbearable. For me, it was a court case that almost tore apart everything I had worked for. I never imagined I would ever be entangled in such a situation, but it happened. I was accused of something I had not done, and the case dragged on for years in Kampala. Each hearing was exhausting, every lawyer demanded more money, and the fear of losing everything weighed heavily on me like a dark shadow. My family and I suffered emotionally, financially, and socially. People gossiped behind my back, and I could feel the shame each time I entered the courtroom.

I did everything I could to fight for my freedom. I changed lawyers, spent countless nights preparing documents, and even borrowed money to cover the endless legal fees. Yet nothing seemed to move forward. The case stretched on endlessly, and it felt as though the entire system was working against me. Many times, I felt like giving up.
