My name is Margaret, and I come from Jinja, Uganda. In 2012, I was diagnosed with cancer, and my entire life collapsed in an instant. I will never forget the day the doctors told me I had only one year left to live. I cried endlessly, wondering what would become of my children and my family. The pain in my body was unbearable, and the fear of death followed me every single day. I felt as though life had ended even before death arrived.
I began treatment, but the hospital visits exhausted me emotionally, physically, and financially. I watched my savings vanish while my health kept worsening.
