In Amolatar, police detained Milly Acen from Abutataro village for wielding a panga and severing her husband’s head over Christmas meat.

The conflict arose when Denis Obua, her spouse, allegedly failed to secure a share of the festive meat for his official family, focusing solely on a woman he is dating. The incident went unreported until an image of Obua’s injured head surfaced on social media, prompting the local LCI’s intervention.

Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police Spokesperson, verified the occurrence, affirming Acen’s arrest for investigative purposes. A recovered panga from the crime scene served as evidence, while the victim received treatment at Amai Community Hospital.

Despite isolated incidents during Christmas, such as a five-million-shilling loss in a fire outbreak at Ngetta Mission, two fatal road crashes, and a murder, Okema cautioned against resorting to violence, emphasizing alternative conflict resolution methods.
