In Ntungamo District, a 34-year-old man has been apprehended by the police for allegedly murdering his elder brother’s child.

The resident of Kanyanzira Village, Nyanga Parish, Rubaare Sub-county, is accused of dismembering the victim and placing the body parts in a saucepan, which he then handed to his wife to cook last Sunday.Upon realizing that she had been given human body parts to cook, the wife raised an alarm, drawing the attention of other residents.

Subsequently, the community identified the remains as those of a nine-year-old boy, the son of the suspect’s elder brother. The residents handed the suspect over to the police.According to Mr. John Kabeho, the district councillor for Rubaare Sub-county, the suspect was left alone with the child while his wife and their child attended church.

When the wife returned, the husband claimed to have bought meat for cooking, instructing her to prepare it immediately due to hunger. However, upon entering the kitchen, she discovered chopped pieces of human meat in the pan.

“He [the suspect] was left home with the child while his wife and his child went to church. When the wife returned from church, her husband told her that he had bought some meat and it was in a sauce pan in the kitchen. He instructed the wife to cook it immediately because he was hungry,” Mr John Kabeho, the district councillor for Rubaare Sub-county, told Daily Monitor.
