Popular Ugandan Bishop In Trouble For Stealing From an Elderly Woman After Selling Her Land Worth UGX 15 Million in Kampala

A well-known Ugandan bishop is in trouble after deceiving a family in Kampala into selling land valued at UGX 15 million, claiming it was cursed with demons from the late husband of the elderly woman. The bishop promised that selling the land would rid them of these spirits, only to later disappear with the land’s title deed.

Margaret Nandawula, the woman affected by this scam, explained that they had fallen victim to religious exploitation, where some pastors misuse their positions to enrich themselves. She expressed that her experience should serve as a lesson not only to this particular bishop but also to others involved in similar activities.

“The bishop came to our home and claimed that the plot we were living on had been overtaken by demons from my late husband. He assured us that the only way to find peace was to sell the land, after which he would perform a ritual to deliver us from these spirits. I agreed, not knowing he was behind the theft,” Margaret recalled.

“On the day we sold the land last week, the bishop came, and I’m not sure what he did. We signed the documents as he directed, only to realize two days later that we had unknowingly transferred ownership of the land to his church. The land, which was worth UGX 15 million, was located near Kampala.”

Margaret added, “As of now, the bishop seems completely disturbed. I will not rest until the land is returned to me, and until it is, he will continue to suffer.”
