How Dr Kizza Besigye Survived Being Killed By M7 Commandos In Kenya And Instead Abducted Him – Lukwago Reveals Secrets
Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has alleged that opposition leader Kizza Besigye was the target of an assassination attempt during a church service at Riverside Church in Kampala.
According to Lukwago, the attack was orchestrated by plain-clothed security agents under the guise of disrupting a political gathering. He claims to have credible information about the plot, emphasizing that the operation went beyond a routine security intervention.
The incident occurred when Besigye and other political figures attended a church service, which was abruptly disrupted by security forces using tear gas and gunfire. The chaotic scene forced congregants to flee, with many accusing the authorities of employing excessive force. Lukwago insists that the security operation’s real objective was to harm Besigye, rather than merely dispersing the gathering.
This development comes amid growing concerns about political repression in Uganda. Lukwago argues that the government has become increasingly intolerant of opposition activities, using security operations as a cover for targeted attacks.
Besigye, a long-time critic of President Yoweri Museveni’s administration, has faced multiple arrests and confrontations with security forces throughout his political career.
The allegations have triggered widespread public outrage, with civil society groups demanding an independent investigation into the incident. While security officials have neither confirmed nor denied the assassination claims, they insist that the operation aimed to restore public order.
Many Ugandans view the event as yet another instance of political persecution in the country’s tense political climate.
