In a post on his official X account, General Muhoozi emphasized the importance of respecting artists, stating, “Nobody has a right to humiliate an artist performing on stage. If you don’t like that artist, wait for the one you want. Promoters and police must also stop that habit.”

His remarks were in response to an incident involving Ugandan musician Ray G, who was humiliated during last year’s Enkuuka event for performing in Runyankore, his native language. The incident has since raised concerns about the treatment of performers and the broader issue of cultural diversity in Uganda.

General Muhoozi’s statement underscores the need for respect and tolerance toward artists, regardless of the language or genre they represent. It also highlights the importance of inclusivity, reminding everyone that all artists should have the freedom to perform without fear of discrimination or humiliation. This message calls for a collective effort to promote cultural harmony and protect the rights of performers.
