Hundreds of Ugandans Face Deportation Under Trump’s Immigration Reforms. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has released figures detailing the number of immigrants facing deportation following new reforms introduced by President Donald Trump.
According to sources, 393 Ugandans are among those at risk of deportation due to Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration. ICE, however, has not disclosed specific case details for individuals on the non-detained docket who have received final removal orders. Under Title 8 of the U.S. Code, ICE has the authority to deport non-citizens with final removal orders issued by an immigration judge.
That said, not every undocumented individual will necessarily be deported. Various factors may prevent ICE from carrying out removals in certain cases. In addition to Ugandans, other African nationals facing deportation include:
Tanzania: 301 individuals, Tunisia: 160 individuals, Zambia: 174 individuals, Togo: 427 individuals, Zimbabwe: 545 individuals.
