Rwenzori NRM Delegates Rally Behind Calvin Echodu for Eastern Uganda Vice Chairperson
NRM delegates from the Rwenzori Subregion have declared their support for David Calvin Echodu as the NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. This happened during a meeting held at Tropical Gardens Hotel in Kyenjojo District. Echodu met with party members from Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa districts.
The meeting was attended by key local leaders, including Nkonke Edward, the NRM Chairperson for Kyenjojo, and Byaboona Wilson, the NRM Chairperson for Kyegegwa. Both leaders welcomed Echodu and showed strong support for his bid.
During the meeting, a youth leader named Abwooli spoke about the challenges young people face. He said many youth feel ignored and are not included in important decisions. He asked the party to give young people more chances to grow and be part of the leadership.
Nkonke Edward advised Echodu to be honest and hardworking. He reminded him that people in the area expect good leadership and real results.
In response, Echodu thanked everyone for their support. He also praised President Yoweri Museveni for his role in bringing peace and progress to Uganda. Echodu said he wants to bring new ideas and teamwork to the NRM and promised to work closely with all members.
He encouraged party members to stay active and committed. He promised more training for NRM members and better support for the party’s work in villages and districts. He said strong and well-organized party offices would help the NRM serve people better.
Echodu also talked about the need for better access to loans, especially for young people and small business owners. He said he will work to make it easier for them to get financial help. He ended by promising to return after the elections to thank the delegates and continue working together.
