Delegates from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Kasese District have officially endorsed Mr. Calvin Echodu for the role of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. The endorsement came during a vibrant and engaging consultative meeting that brought together elders, youth, and party members in a powerful show of unity and purpose.

The meeting was charged with enthusiasm as Mr. Echodu shared his vision for a stronger, more inclusive NRM. He emphasized building robust party structures, empowering grassroots voices, and fostering a spirit of togetherness across all regions. His humility, clarity, and energetic approach left a strong impression on those in attendance.

Youth delegates were especially inspired by Mr. Echodu’s message. They described him as a leader who listens, understands their challenges, and brings fresh energy to the party. His campaign theme, #NewEnergy, was met with excitement and hope, signaling a desire for change and a new style of leadership that truly includes young people.

Elders also stood firmly behind Mr. Echodu, praising his respect for the party’s values and traditions. They expressed confidence in his ability to unite different generations and lead with integrity. The combined support from both young and older members of the party made the event a powerful moment of solidarity.

One of the most symbolic moments of the gathering came when the people of Kasese gave Mr. Echodu the local name “Baluku.” This culturally significant gesture reflected their trust and acceptance of him as part of their own community. Mr. Echodu was visibly moved, expressing deep gratitude and promising to honor the name as he continues to serve the party and the people.

Mr. Echodu outlined his key priorities for Eastern Uganda, including strengthening local party networks, supporting youth and women, and advancing community development. His message was firm and clear: leadership must be rooted in action, unity, and service.

He was joined at the event by Mr. Umar Ebaat, a respected NRM figure and former aspirant for Soroti City West Municipality. Mr. Ebaat recently stepped aside from the race in favor of Mr. Echodu, citing their shared values and vision. Speaking to the delegates, he reaffirmed his full support for Mr. Echodu and called on others to rally behind the #NewEnergy movement.

Together, Mr. Echodu and Mr. Ebaat emphasized the need for collaboration across districts and urged delegates to focus on building a more united, effective party.

The endorsement from Kasese is a major boost for Mr. Echodu’s campaign. It reflects growing confidence in his leadership and the strength of his message. With support from both youth and elders—and with trusted allies standing by his side—the momentum behind #NewEnergy continues to build.

Kasese has spoken clearly: they are ready to move forward together. With their backing, Mr. Calvin Echodu is emerging as a strong and unifying contender for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. The movement is growing—and the journey ahead looks promising.
