“Trust Me This Time, I Will Eliminate Corruption From Uganda,” Says President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni As He Announces His Bid For Another Term In Office
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has officially declared his intention to run for another term as President of Uganda. With this announcement, he has made a powerful promise to the nation: to completely eliminate corruption from the country if granted another five years in office.

Addressing the public with renewed determination, President Museveni stated, “I have decided to come forward once again to lead the Bazukulu (young generation) and their parents for another five years. During this time, I want us to wipe out corruption completely, because it has no place in our society.”
The President emphasized that corruption has long hindered national progress, weakened public trust, and delayed service delivery. He acknowledged the frustration many Ugandans feel about the continued presence of corrupt practices in government institutions. However, he insisted that this time, his government will take stronger and more decisive action to put an end to the problem.
“I am seeking another term so that the word ‘corruption’ will never be heard in Uganda again,” he vowed, appealing to citizens to trust his leadership once more and allow him to finish the mission.
Museveni’s message is expected to stir national debate, especially as many Ugandans reflect on past promises versus present realities. Nonetheless, his bold and clear stance on fighting corruption may resonate with voters who are eager to see meaningful reform and accountability in government.
As Uganda approaches another election season, President Museveni’s anti-corruption pledge stands at the center of his campaign — a message of hope, renewal, and a future where transparency becomes the norm.
