How My Brother Finally Won the 2021 Elections

At the start of 2021, my older brother Michael was at his lowest point. A young and determined politician in Uganda, he had spent years trying to rise through the ranks. He gave his all to serve the community. He drilled boreholes, covered school fees for orphans, and even established a modest health center in our village. But when elections came, things always fell apart. No matter how much support he seemed to have, he lost—twice. Each defeat was crushing. Michael had a strong education, natural charm, and the kind of confidence that made people listen. Even the elders held him in high regard. Yet every election felt like an impossible battle.
